FAQ|blog web hosting A frequently-asked query:

Hi Everyone,

I’d like to search for a new web hosting provider for my blog website, now I would be interested in choosing Godaddy or Hostgator as my website hosting service provider? Anyone has any opinions about which one is better?

Answer|blog web hosting Answer:

Which is better- Hostgator or Godaddy?

GoDaddy continually rates high for domain registration but low in web hosting service potential. Customer support at GoDaddy is doubtful at best, since the total satisfaction guarantee refund, which inturn is hard-to-find on GoDaddy’s site but all over the page at HostGator. GoDaddy actually does have telephone-based customer service (no toll free number), but HostGator has acquired better reviews for technical assistance and gives each client with his or her own toll-free number. Generally, the basic HostGator plan is also less expensive than GoDaddy’s cheapest hosting plan, at $3.99 per month. GoDaddy can deliver hosting services for $4.99 a month, along with a three month commitment. The majority of users agree that GoDaddy is difficult to surpass in terms of domain name registration. However, HostGator provides better customer assistance, lower costs and greater features than GoDaddy.

As we know, Godaddy is one of the big name when it comes to domain registration, however, it seems like their hosting service is a little bit uncomfortable to most users. GoDaddy employs a Simple Control Panel to oversee and manage your hosting accounts. For many, Godaddy’s simple control panel is a pain in the ass. Aside from a complicated user-interface,  it also turns out that they have a slow performance. Check out what these users say about godaddy’s simple control panel at WebHostingTalk:

I have never used them myself, but I have changed settings and nameserves for some of my clients who can’t figure it out. I agree that GoDaddy’s domain control panel is slow and its also hard to find what you want. It need a major upgrade before I’d use it for any of my domains.

I’ve moved all but a couple domains from godaddy because of their control panel alone, its overdone and way to slow.

-dsotmoon

Their control panel is the slowest of all domain registrars I have experienced. Not only this is the reason I hate GoDaddy, but their domain transfer restrictions on registrant change and many such things are just frustrating!

Honestly, I hate new godaddy panel badly… It’s the worst control panel for domains management I have ever used. Not only it’s slow, it’s NOT user friendly. Do godaddy programmers know a magic word USABILITY?

-Hosting24

While on HostGator uses cPanel which is the most favorite control panel of many website owners. It’s so simple to choose, all people might learn it within an hour or so. The truth that numerous web hosts chose cPanel also tends to make it simpler to move your internet site from one host to another.Furthermore, Hostgator have lots of promos and discounts for prospective clients that is hard to resist compared to Godaddy.
Afterall everything is said, Hostgator is by far better than Godaddy in terms of web hosting service, customer support, user friendly cpanel and discount coupon codes.
